UK cybersecurity startup Cytix on August 12, 2026 announced a €6 million ($7 million) Series A led by Northern Gritstone, with participation from existing investors Auriga Cyber Ventures and NPIF II — PXN Equity Finance, part of the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund II.
Change risk as its own security discipline
Founded in Manchester in 2020, Cytix argues that AI-assisted development, agentic workflows and continuous delivery have pushed software change beyond the reach of traditional security models. Its newly launched change risk platform tries to answer three questions on every merge: should security care about this change, what risk does it introduce, and what action is required?
Backed to scale Northern deep tech
"Software change is becoming a key risk for organisations and those that build software need a solution that scales with the current pace of development," Cytix CEO Ben Armstrong said in the announcement. Northern Gritstone CEO Duncan Johnson added that the platform lets enterprises "take a realistic approach, recognising where change carries the most risk whilst allowing businesses to innovate."
Distribution through NCC Group and KPMG
Cytix reaches regulated enterprises directly and through managed service partnerships with NCC Group and KPMG. The Series A follows a wave of AI security funding — recent deals include Anthropic's Frontier Red Team disclosures on agent-versus-agent risk and Palo Alto Networks embedding OpenAI's Daybreak Red inside Unit 42.
