Donut Lab is pushing its toroidal "donut" hub motors and a production-ready solid-state battery into robots, drones and electric vehicles — including a new 5-inch drone motor rated for 100+ kg payloads and hundreds of kilometres of range.

One motor family, many machines

The line-up spans from a 120 mm "minidonut" (3 kW, 20 Nm, 1.5 kg) for drones up to high-output wheel motors, with inverter and software integrated into the hub. The compact, high-torque format suits legged and wheeled robotics as much as EV skateboards.

A production-ready solid-state battery

At CES 2026 Donut Lab unveiled what it calls the first OEM-ready solid-state battery, first shipping in Verge Motorcycles from Q1 2026 — a notable step for battery technology across mobility and defence robotics.

Drones and defence

With partner ESOX Group, Donut Lab's battery is moving into defence-grade platforms including a tactical buggy and next-gen drone — echoing the wider drone build-out from Amazon Prime Air's drone zone to counter-drone systems.
