Paris-based cybersecurity startup Filigran has announced a $58 million Series C round, bringing the company’s total raised to more than $100 million. The round will bankroll international expansion across the United States, Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific, deeper AI integration in its product stack, and growth across French and German engineering hubs.
From OpenCTI Side Project To Open-Source Champion
Filigran was incubated inside French cyber consultancy Luatix as the team behind OpenCTI, the open-source threat intelligence platform that became a de facto standard for sharing indicators of compromise inside large enterprises. The company spun out in 2022 and has since rolled out OpenAEV, an automated breach-and-attack-simulation product that lets security teams run continuous red-team exercises against their own infrastructure.
AI Agents Push The Roadmap
CEO Samuel Hassine framed the round as a bet that defenders need to match the pace of AI-augmented attackers. Filigran is wiring large language models directly into OpenCTI’s entity graph, letting analysts query their threat data conversationally and auto-generate detection content. The company joins a broader wave of cybersecurity raises this year, with Frame Security’s $50M stealth exit, Lastwall’s quantum-resilient Series A extension, and Coralogix’s $200M Series F all landing in 2026.
Why Investors Are Leaning In
Cybersecurity funding has held firm even as the rest of venture has tightened, with Crunchbase tracking deals in the $200–400 million sweet spot as the most active band in 2026. Filigran’s open-source model gives it a built-in installation base that closed-source SaaS rivals do not have, and ARR is growing on every paid tier the team rolls out.
