Outdoor and sporting-goods e-commerce operator GRITR Sports has flipped the switch on a next-generation robot-powered fulfillment center in Arlington, Texas, built around 69 Quicktron Robotics autonomous mobile robots and an AI-driven inventory layer that reroutes picking paths in real time.
69 AMRs, centimeter-level navigation
The warehouse is anchored by a fleet of 69 Quicktron autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) that navigate the floor with centimeter-level precision, retrieving totes and shuttling them to human packers. GRITR says AI-driven inventory management is cutting travel time inside the facility by roughly two-thirds and lifting throughput capacity by 130% versus the prior manual layout.

Quicktron formalized months earlier
The Chinese AMR maker has been quietly winning U.S. e-commerce deals; GRITR said the deployment stems from a landmark partnership with Quicktron formalized several months before commissioning. The two companies have been co-tuning fleet management, task allocation and integration with GRITR's warehouse execution systems to accommodate peak-season order spikes across the GritrSports, GritrOutdoors and RunUnited brands.
Where it fits in the wider physical-AI push
The launch adds another mid-market retailer to the growing group of operators moving from scripted robotics to adaptive, AI-driven automation. It follows deployments like the Ambi Robotics and Pickle Robot inbound-logistics integration, the UPS deal with Pickle Robot for 400 unloading robots, and the Ocado 600 Series rollout with a European retailer.
Local hiring, not just robots
"We aren't just adding more space; we are adding intelligence," GRITR chief information officer Alex Grigorenko said. The company has also opened 25 new specialized roles in Arlington covering robotics maintenance, data analysis and systems management, an unusually explicit signal that the operator sees AMR fleets as a jobs upgrade rather than a headcount cut.
