Tel Aviv-based Guardio confirmed on 3 September 2026 that it has raised a $40 million round at a $1.1 billion post-money valuation, adding Wiz co-founder Assaf Rappaport to a syndicate of existing investors, founders and strategic angels. The capital pushes Guardio into unicorn territory as it expands beyond browser extensions into broader endpoint, mobile and identity protection for everyday users.
From Browser Extension To Consumer Security Suite
Founded in 2018 by Amos Peled, Daniel Sirota and Michael Vainshtein, Guardio started with a Chromium-based extension that inspects pages, links and downloads in real time for phishing, malvertising, scam sites and malicious add-ons. Its cloud today analyses billions of events per day and now protects more than one million paying users after three consecutive years of triple-digit growth. Guardio expects to cross $100 million in annual recurring revenue in early 2026.
Why Growth Investors Are Circling Consumer Cyber
Consumer cybersecurity has been the quiet corner of the market for years, dominated by legacy antivirus brands. Guardio pitches itself as the AI-native successor: a subscription that ships in minutes, updates continuously and blocks the phishing kits and scam infrastructure enterprise SOCs already track. The new round follows a wave of AI-enabled security deals, including Lasso Security’s $30 million CPU-only guardrail round, CrowdStrike’s SafeMind partnership with NVIDIA and JetStream Security’s zero-trust brake on AI agent actions.
Rappaport Joins The Cap Table
Assaf Rappaport co-founded cloud security company Wiz, which agreed to be acquired by Google’s parent Alphabet for $32 billion earlier this year — a sign of how highly security founders are prized as capital partners. His involvement gives Guardio credibility as it courts distribution partners such as telcos, ISPs and neobanks that want to embed protection into their bundles.
