Phoenix, Arizona-based MiiHealth AI has closed a $2.8 million seed funding round led by Russell Glass, former CEO of Headspace and founder of Arteria Capital, with participation from a group of physician angels, healthcare operators and digital health founders. The round announced on 5 August 2026 accelerates the deployment of DAINA — the company's agentic voice AI medical assistant purpose-built to automate patient intake.
What DAINA actually does
DAINA (Dynamic AI Intake and Navigation Agent) autonomously calls patients ahead of their appointment, runs a natural, multi-turn clinical interview in the patient's preferred language, and writes structured, clinician-ready notes directly into the electronic health record. Under the hood, the MediiFlow intake automation engine handles specialty-specific protocols, red-flag detection and integration into EHRs via HL7v2 with enterprise-grade security.
Deployed at Mayo Clinic cardiology
MiiHealth's platform has already been validated at Mayo Clinic's cardiology practice, where the assistant completed agentic intake for hundreds of patients and saved more than eight minutes per encounter — freeing providers to focus on higher-value clinical work. In aggregate, MiiHealth reports providers regain roughly two hours a day of previously repetitive documentation and intake time.
Where the money goes
The seed capital will expand engineering and AI teams to grow DAINA's catalogue of specialty protocols, deepen clinical-reasoning safety checks, accelerate integrations across major EHRs and grow commercial and customer-success functions targeting health systems, specialty practices and virtual-first providers.
"This raise fuels our next chapter: a more trustworthy clinical Agent, deeper roots across 70% of the country's EHR landscape, and a market position that sets a new standard for what AI-driven care looks like," said founder and CEO Kelvin Summoogum. The deal joins a wider run of agentic health-AI seed and Series A rounds in August 2026.
