Muon Space, the Mountain View, California-based satellite manufacturer, has closed a heavily oversubscribed $250 million Series C financing that lifts its valuation to $1.5 billion, giving the company fresh capital to scale up production of large-format constellations and its Mission Foundry model.
Eclipse leads a strategic syndicate
The round was led by Eclipse and joined by Galvanize, Google, Salesforce Ventures, Wellington Management, I Squared Capital and Toyota-linked Woven Capital, alongside existing backers Radical Ventures, Congruent Ventures, Costanoa Ventures, Activate Capital, ACME Capital, ArcTern Ventures and Overlap Holdings. Muon has now raised more than $386 million in total equity since it was founded in 2021.
"Space infrastructure needs to scale the way cloud infrastructure did," said Muon Space chief executive Jonny Dyer. "We have built the Mission Foundry to help customers deploy complete constellation systems in months instead of years." Eclipse founder Lior Susan added that Muon has "turned what was once a bespoke, years-long process into a repeatable model built to scale."
A breakout year of orbital deliveries
The Series C follows the most productive stretch in Muon's history: seven satellites launched in the first half of 2026 brought the company's total to 11 satellites deployed across six missions, with a 100% mission success record. Two customer constellations are also coming online this year — Vindlér 2.0 for Sierra Nevada Corporation, delivering RF data and analytics, and FireSat, the global wildfire-monitoring constellation developed with Earth Fire Alliance and Google.org that was named one of TIME's Best Inventions of 2025.
Ten-fold factory expansion in San Jose
Muon recently opened an advanced manufacturing facility in San Jose designed to produce up to 500 satellites annually by 2027, a ten-fold expansion over its previous capacity. The company says more than 50 satellites are already in development for customers, with 13 manifested for launch over the next twelve months. Fresh capital will also fund on-orbit AI compute and ultra-high-bandwidth optical connectivity delivered in partnership with SpaceX Starlink, extending Muon's reach into commercial, government and international sovereign markets.
Momentum for space-infrastructure funding
Muon's raise lands in a hot summer for satellite capital: Starcloud closed a $250M Series A extension with Nvidia for an orbital AI data center, Rocket Lab won a $397M Space Force Flatellite contract, and NASA added Muon and seven other firms to its Commercial Satellite Data program. Together they underline the fast-growing appetite for turnkey space capacity across defense, climate and commercial customers.
