
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has unveiled the H2 Plus humanoid robot, a reference platform co-developed with China's Unitree Robotics and Singapore-based hand specialist Sharpa. Announced at NVIDIA GTC Taipei on June 1, 2026, the system is the first humanoid built specifically around NVIDIA's Isaac GR00T software stack and is intended as an open research platform for academic and industry labs.
The Hardware
H2 Plus is six feet tall, weighs 150 pounds and offers 31 degrees of freedom in its body, supplied by Unitree, with an additional 25 degrees of freedom in Sharpa's five-finger dexterous hands. Nvidia provides the compute, including Jetson Thor and Blackwell silicon, plus the full Isaac GR00T stack spanning data collection, simulation, training, evaluation and on-robot deployment.
Why It Matters
The launch is Nvidia's clearest signal yet that it sees humanoid robotics as a tier-one platform play. By backing a Chinese hardware partner that ships at scale, Nvidia bypasses the supply-side bottlenecks that have limited many Western humanoid programs, while keeping the software stack proprietary. The choice of Unitree — over Tesla Optimus, Figure or Boston Dynamics Atlas — also positions Nvidia inside China's rapidly scaling humanoid ecosystem.
Open Sale In October
Unitree said the H2 Plus will be available for purchase starting October 2026. CEO Wang Xingxing has previously signalled that Unitree could pursue a Shanghai STAR board IPO in the same window, with an offering reportedly targeting up to 4.2 billion yuan (about $620 million).
Early Research Partners
Four research labs are already committed to deploying H2 Plus units: the Allen Institute for AI's robotics team in Seattle, ETH Zurich's robotics group led by Marco Hutter, the Stanford Robotics Center, and UC San Diego's Advanced Robotics and Controls Laboratory. Their work will feed back into Isaac GR00T's reference policies and accelerate academic-industry collaboration on humanoid foundation models.
