Shenzhen-based embodied-AI startup X Square Robot has put its QUANTA X1 Pro wheeled dual-arm humanoid to work inside lululemon's freshly opened Wuhan distribution centre, handling parcels on live logistics lines beside conventional automation. The deployment, disclosed on 20 September 2026, is one of the first at-scale trials of X Square's GreatWall-powered manipulation stack inside a Western retailer's Chinese supply chain.
Inside The Wuhan Rollout
Lululemon opened its Wuhan facility on 16 September 2026 as the brand's third distribution hub in China, integrating RFID tracking, automated storage, sortation equipment and a fleet of automated guided vehicles. QUANTA X1 Pro slots into that stack as the flexible pick-and-place layer, taking on parcels that don't neatly conform to fixed conveyors or bin sizes. In an earlier internal trial, X Square reported the robot handled 1,816 parcels with a success rate above 98% using purpose-built grippers — a benchmark the company is now trying to prove in continuous, mixed-catalog retail work.
What QUANTA X1 Pro Is
X Square Robot was founded in December 2023 and is best known for its GreatWall foundation-model family, which includes WALL-A, the open-source WALL-OSS, and the WALL-B "World Unified Model." QUANTA X1 Pro sits at the applied end of that research: a wheeled, dual-arm manipulation platform designed for logistics, household, elder-care and hospitality environments. Company execs have positioned it as a bridge between purely industrial arms and full bipedal humanoids, keeping capital costs down while still offering human-scale reach and articulated grasping.
Why Retailers Are Piloting Wheeled Humanoids
Lululemon's Wuhan mix — RFID, AGVs, storage buffers and now a wheeled humanoid — is characteristic of the retail-logistics playbook emerging in China this year: keep fixed automation for volume SKUs, and deploy general-purpose robots for the long tail of irregular parcels. Neither X Square nor lululemon disclosed the number of QUANTA X1 Pros in operation, intervention rates, throughput or commercial terms.
