Oxford Quantum Circuits, AMD and JPMorgan Chase have launched a dedicated Quantum-AI Data Center in London that will physically colocate OQC's GENESIS superconducting quantum processor with AMD-supplied high-performance classical compute and AI infrastructure, the three partners announced on June 3, 2026. JPMorgan Chase will be the platform's first dedicated user, with the facility scheduled to be fully operational within the next twelve months.
A Hybrid Quantum-Classical Production Stack
The facility's design is unusual. Rather than letting researchers reach a quantum processor over the cloud and a classical accelerator somewhere else, the three companies are wiring an OQC GENESIS quantum processor and AMD CPU/GPU compute into a single low-latency enterprise environment so hybrid quantum-classical workloads can run end-to-end without cross-data-center hops. The architecture is aimed at the workloads where quantum advantage is plausible near term: portfolio optimisation, quantum machine learning models for credit and market risk, and AI models that specifically improve quantum circuit performance.
JPMorgan Chase As Anchor Tenant
JPMorgan Chase's Global Technology Applied Research team, led by Marco Pistoia, has spent more than a decade running quantum optimisation and quantum machine learning research, and is now reframing that work around production-scale hybrid pipelines. The bank's role as anchor user gives Oxford Quantum Circuits a paying enterprise reference customer on a frontier platform, a milestone European quantum hardware vendors have largely lacked. AMD, meanwhile, gets to land flag-planting share inside one of the highest-prestige quantum reference architectures in financial services, head-to-head with Nvidia's CUDA-Q stack at the JPMorgan-OQC interface.
OQC's Funding Tailwind
The data center launch lands two months after OQC closed a £260 million (about $350 million) Series C in April 2026, the largest single round in European quantum computing history. Proceeds are earmarked for data-center-deployed quantum hardware and the development of the OQC TITAN platform that will succeed GENESIS. Compared with Quantinuum's $1.68 billion Nasdaq IPO at $60 a share earlier this month, OQC's wager is on enterprise data-center colocation as the wedge rather than public-market access.
Why The London Geography Matters
Locating the joint data center in London anchors the hybrid stack in the same regulatory perimeter as the largest concentration of European capital markets activity, mirroring how IBM's $10 billion quantum roadmap tries to lock in long-duration enterprise relationships through proximity rather than over-the-wire access alone. For the broader UK quantum ecosystem, the launch is the closest the country has come to a flagship enterprise quantum compute footprint that does not route through a US hyperscaler first.
