Bynario, a Milan-based autonomous application security startup whose researchers used frontier AI models to expose serious flaws in Apple's macOS Screen Sharing stack, has closed a €2.1 million pre-seed round led by 360 Capital Partners with participation from PranaVentures.
From AI-assisted research to a security platform
Founded in 2025 by Alfredo Pesoli, Giancarlo Russo and Lorenzo Cavallaro, Bynario builds an autonomous platform that discovers, validates, prioritises and remediates software vulnerabilities across source code, cloud infrastructure and the software supply chain. Rather than flooding security teams with generic findings, the platform confirms which vulnerabilities are actually exploitable in a customer's environment.
The company earned wide attention in August 2026 when its researchers used frontier AI models as part of an offensive security programme to surface serious vulnerabilities in Apple macOS Screen Sharing. Apple has since shipped fixes.

The bigger AI vs. defender problem
Verizon's 2026 Data Breach Investigations Report ranked software vulnerabilities as the most common route into enterprise systems, accounting for 31% of incidents. Bynario's pitch is that AI-driven autonomous discovery — done responsibly and validated — is now the only way to keep pace as attackers wield the same tools. "As AI continues to reduce the cost of vulnerability research and exploitation, more exploitable vulnerabilities become attractive targets," CEO Alfredo Pesoli said in a statement.
The company plans to use the new capital to expand its engineering team and scale the platform for enterprise customers. Cesare Maifredi, partner at 360 Capital, called Bynario's approach of "autonomous vulnerability discovery, validation, prioritisation, and remediation" the model for modern cybersecurity.
