China's Direct Drive Tech Prices $138M Hong Kong IPO for September 29 Listing

Dongguan-based Direct Drive Tech is set to raise about $138 million in a Hong Kong Stock Exchange listing on September 29, 2026, extending a wave of Chinese robotics IPOs led by humanoid, quadruped and industrial-motion companies.

China's Direct Drive Tech Prices $138M Hong Kong IPO for September 29 Listing

Dongguan Direct Drive Technology Limited, better known as Direct Drive Tech, is on track to price a roughly $138 million Hong Kong Stock Exchange IPO with an expected listing date of September 29, 2026, adding another Chinese robotics name to a crowded 2026 pipeline.

What Direct Drive Tech builds

Founded in 2020 in Dongguan by CEO Zhang Di, Direct Drive Tech develops precision direct-drive motors, joint modules and wheeled-leg robot platforms designed to replace conventional reduction gearboxes. Its lineup includes the Diablo two-wheeled leg robot, the TITA mid-size wheeled-leg platform and the D1 direct-drive motor series that powers humanoid, quadruped, industrial and healthcare robots for customers in more than 50 countries.

Positioned inside China's robotics-IPO wave

The offering slots into a busy Hong Kong docket for robotics names. Mech-Mind Robotics priced at HK$101.70 in late August, AgiBot filed for a $40–50 billion valuation, LimX Dynamics submitted a confidential $300 million filing and Manus is chasing a $4 billion valuation. Direct Drive Tech's motor-and-platform pitch complements those humanoid and vision-focused deals by targeting the actuator layer of the robot stack.

From ¥100 million Series A to public offering

Direct Drive Tech previously closed a ¥100 million Series A and has been positioning itself as an "open R&D" motion platform, releasing SDKs for its wheeled-leg robots through the DDTRobot developer community. Proceeds from the IPO are expected to fund capacity expansion for direct-drive motor manufacturing, R&D for next-generation joint modules, and international sales channels — an area where Chinese motion suppliers are competing with Japanese and European incumbents.

What to watch on listing day

Investors will be watching how Direct Drive Tech's motor-heavy story trades against China's broader humanoid IPO backlog and against the same-day Hong Kong debut of other robotics names. A strong open would strengthen the case that motion hardware, and not just humanoid platforms, deserves a public-market rerating.
