AI-employee platform Ema on September 23 announced a $77 million Series B led by Bengaluru-based Creaegis, with existing investors Accel, Section 32 and Prosus increasing their stakes. The round brings the Mountain View, California startup's total funding to $140 million.
50-Fold Revenue Growth In Two Years
Ema now serves more than 50 enterprise customers - a list that includes NTT DATA, Hitachi, ADP, PwC, Google, KPMG, Wipro and Microsoft - powering more than five million actions per month for over a million enterprise users. The company said revenue has grown roughly 50-fold in two years, with bookings above $150 million, gross margins near 80% and net dollar retention around 180%.
Agents Eating SaaS
Chief executive Surojit Chatterjee, a former Google and Coinbase product leader, said the fresh funding will finance geographic expansion into Asia-Pacific, South America and the Middle East, plus sales-and-marketing hires. "Progress in frontier models is actually very beneficial to us," Chatterjee said, arguing that Ema's multi-agent orchestration layer captures value even as underlying models commoditise.
A Growing AI-Agent Cohort
The Series B lands the same week Snorkel AI tripled its valuation to $3.5 billion and follows related enterprise-AI bets like Salesforce and NVIDIA's Koa reasoning model, part of an investor rush into agents that automate work across HR, IT and finance rather than just generate text.
