Eve Air Mobility (NYSE: EVEX, EVEXW; B3: EVEB31), the Embraer-backed advanced air mobility company, announced on July 19, 2026 that it has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Shearwater Global Capital, the aviation finance company of Atlanta-based private credit firm Bay Point, for up to 16 electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. The deal was unveiled during the Farnborough International Airshow in the United Kingdom and marks Shearwater's entry into the advanced air mobility financing market.
A leasing platform for advanced air mobility
The Letter of Intent envisions Shearwater deploying the Eve fleet to support leasing solutions for future eVTOL operators worldwide. "We are pleased to welcome Shearwater to Eve's growing network of customers and partners," said Johann Bordais, CEO of Eve Air Mobility. "We believe advanced air mobility will play an important role in shaping the future of transportation, and we look forward to supporting Shearwater as it offers leasing solutions to the market."
Confidence in Eve's ecosystem and backlog
Chris Miller, managing director, Aviation, at Shearwater Global Capital, said the order reflects the firm's confidence in Eve's technology, leadership team and vision. "We believe advanced air mobility will become a global market, and Shearwater intends to play a leading role in supporting that growth through innovative leasing solutions. By leveraging Eve's industry-leading backlog and integrated ecosystem of aircraft and services, we see a compelling opportunity to help operators expand and create long-term value," he said.
A four-passenger electric aircraft designed for cities
Eve's eVTOL is a fully electric, four-passenger aircraft designed around a human-centric approach with a focus on safety, accessibility and reduced community noise. The company is developing a comprehensive ecosystem alongside the aircraft itself, including a services portfolio, operations solutions and an urban air traffic management system called Vector. Eve is backed by more than five decades of Embraer's aerospace expertise, and the Shearwater LOI adds to a growing backlog of aircraft commitments from customers and investors worldwide.
The Farnborough announcement builds on Eve's recent hover flight test milestones and comes as urban air mobility financing accelerates. Related coverage includes Vertical Aerospace's Farnborough eVTOL demonstration and Boeing's MQ-28 Ghost Bat debut at the airshow.
