Honeywell Aerospace has opened the Farnborough International Airshow with a record-breaking commercial win: Indian low-cost carrier IndiGo will equip 810 incoming Airbus A320neo family jets with Honeywell weather radars, traffic collision avoidance systems, flight management systems and 131-9A auxiliary power units, the largest new-aircraft-selectable equipment agreement in the company's history.
A 810-Jet Retrofit For The Newly Independent Honeywell Aerospace
The deal, announced on July 20 as the show opened in Hampshire, marks the biggest commercial milestone yet for Honeywell Aerospace since its spin-off from parent Honeywell in June. The unit will also provide long-term aftermarket support across the same equipment set, extending an OEM relationship with IndiGo that stretches back to 2015 and covers the airline's current fleet of more than 400 aircraft.

IndiGo, run by parent InterGlobe Aviation, is India's largest carrier by fleet and passengers and is in the middle of a large international network expansion, with long-haul routes to Manchester and Amsterdam launched this summer. "As IndiGo continues its transformation into a truly global airline, Honeywell Aerospace's advanced technologies and long-term support services will further reinforce these strengths," Willie Walsh, IndiGo's chief executive officer designate, said in a statement.
Opens A Defence-Heavy Farnborough Week
The IndiGo win is the largest of a wave of announcements Airbus, Boeing and their suppliers are expected to unveil across a Farnborough 2026 defined by a near 50/50 split between defence and commercial exhibitors. Honeywell also opened the show with a runway safety technology partnership covering Aeromexico's fleet of more than 100 Boeing 737s, signalling that its post-spin commercial aerospace business is looking to grow both new-aircraft and after-market franchises simultaneously.
