HubX, the Izmir-based consumer AI app factory behind DaVinci, Nova, Wiser, Lotus Flow and Note AI, said this week it has raised up to $75 million from Point72 Private Investments — an initial $50 million cheque plus an option for another $25 million — at a $1.2 billion pre-money valuation. The deal, first reported by Turkish outlets on 28 August and consolidated in the 3 September funding roundup, is HubX’s first ever outside capital after four years of bootstrapped growth and makes it Türkiye’s eighth unicorn (or “Turcorn”).
A Portfolio, Not A Single App
Founded in 2022 by brothers Cem and Kaan Ortabaş with a team now above 370, HubX runs a portfolio of more than 40 AI-powered consumer products across generative AI, education and health-and-fitness. The apps have racked up more than 600 million downloads across 190-plus countries. Its playbook: build or acquire an app, layer HubX’s in-house AI Lab technology on top, and use its monetisation and growth infrastructure to scale globally.
What Point72 Is Buying
Point72 Private Investments, the venture arm of Steven A. Cohen’s Point72 Asset Management, is known for data-driven bets on companies that own defensible distribution. HubX’s pitch is exactly that: 3.7 million daily active users across a fragmented consumer AI portfolio, plus a repeatable playbook for acqui-hiring smaller studios and pushing generative features into their user bases.
Turkey’s Turcorn Momentum
HubX joins Trendyol, Getir, Peak Games, Dream Games, Hepsiburada, Insider and Picus Security in the Turcorn club. Turkish startups pulled in $559 million in Q1 2026 alone, seven times the year-ago quarter. HubX’s round lands the same week as other September consumer- and infrastructure-AI cheques Wafer’s $40 million Series A, Zeit AI’s €5 million seed and Lyte’s $165 million Series C.
