Luxonis, the Denver company behind the OAK spatial AI cameras and open-source DepthAI software, announced July 2 that it has closed a $14 million Series A led by Denali Growth Partners with participation from Taiwania Capital — its first institutional round after more than seven years of bootstrapped growth. The funding will scale production of the OAK camera platform, expand supply-chain capacity and deepen the OAK 4 ecosystem launched in December 2025.

The Perception Layer for Robots

Luxonis builds what it calls the perception layer for physical AI: OAK devices combine RGB and stereo depth sensors, an IMU and on-device compute in a single sealed unit, letting developers deploy vision-based automation without external processing. The flagship OAK 4 delivers 52 TOPS of edge AI inference — 40 times the previous generation — inside an IP67-rated housing, with variants starting at $749. The company's open-source DepthAI SDK has passed 6 million downloads, and its customer base spans more than 60 Fortune 500 companies and 17 of the Dow Jones 30.

Scaling From Kickstarter to Fortune 500

"After more than seven years building Luxonis with the support of friends and family, we're delighted to close our first institutional round and welcome Denali and Taiwania to our board," said CEO Bradley Dillon. The company plans new devices at accessible price points for agriculture, defense, industrial automation, heavy machinery, medtech and warehousing, and recently gained official support in NVIDIA Isaac Sim.

Taiwania Capital's Richard Wang framed the deal as bridging "Central and Eastern Europe's elite AI engineering and Taiwan's robust manufacturing with a U.S. go-to-market engine." The round underlines investor appetite for the sensing components beneath the robotics boom, from Sonair's safety-certified 3D ultrasonic sensor to Robust.AI's Aptiv sensor partnership, and follows mega-deals like TwelveLabs' $100M Series B for video AI.
