Buckley Leads, Thiel And Anthropic Staff Join
The round was led by Buckley Ventures, with participation from Peter Thiel, Coinbase co-founder Fred Ehrsam and multiple technical staff from Anthropic - including Frontier Red Team lead Logan Graham and researcher Sholto Douglas. The seed brings Pilgrim's total funding above $30 million and marks its first major raise since founder Jake Adler, a Thiel Fellow, closed a $3.25 million pre-seed in 2025.

Argus is a 50-pound appliance that continuously samples ambient air and runs on-board genomic sequencing to flag airborne pathogens - including Ebola, anthrax and novel outbreak agents - within minutes.
