Autonomous trucking developer PlusAI has published its first-half 2026 commercial readiness metrics, reporting steady progress across three headline indicators as it targets factory-built driverless truck deployments in 2027. Safety Case Readiness (SCR) climbed from 90.1% to 93.4%, Autonomous Miles Percentage (AMP) rose from 99.2% to 99.8%, and Remote Assistance-Free Trips (RAFT) improved from 79% to 85.2%.
Commercial pilots in Texas and Spain
The Santa Clara, California-based company launched a commercial autonomous fleet trial with International Motors and Ryder on the I-35 freight corridor in Texas, and announced Southern Europe's first autonomous trucks in cooperation with Spanish logistics operator Sesé and the government of Aragon. PlusAI also released SuperDrive 6.0 with night-driving and construction-zone handling designed for scaled driverless operations.
NVIDIA stack goes deeper
PlusAI expanded its NVIDIA partnership to run the Alpamayo foundation model on DRIVE Hyperion with Halos safety technologies, and secured four ISO certifications supporting commercial deployment. International commercialization now spans Europe and Japan.
The road to 100%
PlusAI expects to hit 100% SCR in 2027 and clear 90% RAFT before commercial launch. "Commercializing autonomous trucks requires more than a capable AI system," said co-founder and COO Shawn Kerrigan. "It requires proving that the system is safe, reliable and operationally efficient."
