Qingxing Raises 100M Yuan Series A+ For Quantum-Inspired AI On Regular GPUs

Shanghai's Qingxing Heterogeneous Computing has raised ~100M yuan ($14.9M) across two rounds in three months to scale RiverONE, a quantum-inspired vision-language model that runs on standard GPUs.

Qingxing Raises 100M Yuan Series A+ For Quantum-Inspired AI On Regular GPUs

Chinese quantum-inspired AI startup Qingxing Heterogeneous Computing has closed nearly 100 million yuan — roughly $14.9 million — across a Series A and a Series A+ round in the past three months, marking one of the more heavily syndicated bets in the emerging category of small models that borrow ideas from quantum computing but run on standard GPUs.

A Syndicated A+ For A Shanghai Newcomer

Founded in 2021 in Shanghai and also known as Sober Heterogeneous, Qingxing said the latest tranche closed on September 25, 2026 and drew participation from Jinkai Capital (Jadex Capital), Anhui High-Tech Investment, Daode Investment, Lishi Investment, Zhongzi Fund, Xuhui Capital, Senlan Group and Richard Liu, the JD.com founder — a mixed roster of state-linked funds, private VCs and a strategic corporate backer.

RiverONE Squeezes Big-Model Accuracy Into Small-Model Silicon

The company's flagship is RiverONE, a quantum-inspired vision-language model in the River series. Qingxing says RiverONE hits at least 95% of a larger comparison model's accuracy on quantum-calibration and industrial-perception benchmarks with under one-tenth of the parameters — a compression that matters more in China than elsewhere as US export controls throttle access to top-end training chips.

Riding The Physical-AI Wave, Not The Quantum Hardware One

Qingxing sits at an interesting seam: it is not a quantum-hardware company like IonQ or a Chinese superconducting-qubit rival, and it does not need dilution refrigerators or cryogenic wiring. Instead, its models simulate quantum-inspired attention patterns on conventional GPUs, positioning it closer to the physical-AI runtimes that startups like Perceptron are pushing into robotics.

Use Of Proceeds

Qingxing will spend the fresh capital on scaling the River model family, expanding industrial partnerships in defence and semiconductor calibration, and hiring in Shanghai and Anhui — where local governments have made quantum-inspired computing a policy priority. The company's revenue mix, and any customer concentration risk, was not disclosed. The syndicate's China Consulting Fund and Anhui Provincial Emerging Industry Investment stakes suggest a public-market path is at least a possibility, though the recent CSRC scrutiny on government-backed AI revenue may cool that timeline.
