FPGA maker Efinix has announced the Titanium Edge family, a suite of programmable chips purpose-built for edge AI deployments where every milliwatt, square millimeter and attack surface counts.
Five problems, one silicon platform
Built on the company's proven Titanium architecture, the new devices cut static power consumption by 50% compared with the existing Titanium generation, enabling always-on AI inference in thermally constrained systems. System-in-Package variants integrate FPGA, HyperRAM and boot flash into a single module — shrinking PCB footprint by up to 60%, with packages down to 5.5 mm × 5.5 mm. I/O reaches 2.5 Gbps with MIPI interfaces in x1 to x8 lane widths, feeding multi-sensor AI pipelines for vision and autonomous systems without external bridge chips.
Reliability and post-quantum security in hardware
A dedicated hardware SEU scrubbing engine continuously corrects radiation-induced configuration bit flips, while security variants add post-quantum-ready cryptography aligned with CNSA 2.0 and the EU Cyber Resilience Act — including ML-DSA-65 signature authentication, AES-256-GCM encryption, PUF-based key derivation and secure boot. "We are giving designers the performance they need without forcing them to compromise on power, footprint, or security," said Sammy Cheung, Efinix co-founder and CEO.
Sampling now, more variants through 2026
The family spans 39,000 to 123,000 logic elements. The flagship Ti125 and Ti95 are sampling now; SiP and security-enhanced versions follow through Q4 2026, all supported by the Efinity IDE and Sapphire RISC-V SoC ecosystem.
