Norwegian deep-tech firm Alva Industries has raised €16 million led by Nysnø Climate Investments, Sandwater and Emerald Technology Ventures to industrialize its FiberPrinting electric motors for robotics, defense and aerospace.

Alva Industries, the Trondheim, Norway-based deep-tech company developing ultra-compact, high-performance electric motors, has raised €16 million in equity financing to fund industrial scale-up and international growth. The round, announced July 3, brings fresh institutional and corporate capital behind a manufacturing process the company believes can redefine how precision motors are built.

Climate Capital Meets Component Engineering

The financing was led by Nysnø Climate Investments — the Norwegian state's climate investment company — together with Sandwater and Emerald Technology Ventures, investing on behalf of Nabtesco Technology Ventures. Existing investors including Statkraft Ventures and EnvisionTech participated, and Samsung Ventures' December 2025 investment was converted into shares as part of the transaction. The syndicate mixes sovereign climate money with strategic corporate investors from Japan's Nabtesco, a major robotics gearbox maker, and South Korea's Samsung.

FiberPrinting: Winding Motors Like Composites

Led by CEO Oliver Skisland, Alva Industries manufactures slotless electric motors using its patented FiberPrinting™ process, which produces motor stators with fiber-level winding precision. The result is motors with unusually high power density in compact, lightweight packages — properties that matter most in drones, robotic joints, actuation systems and other applications where every gram and watt counts.

Serving the Robotics and Defense Supply Chain

Alva's customers span robotics, defense, aerospace, medical technology, industrial automation and autonomous systems — sectors where European component suppliers are seeing surging demand. The raise lands amid a broader wave of investment in the physical layers of automation, from FAULHABER's high-torque, low-noise GPT gearheads to Innok Robotics' funding for outdoor AMRs and Luxonis' $14M Series A for its OAK perception layer.

With the new capital, the company plans to expand production capacity in Norway and deepen its presence with international OEMs across Europe, North America and Asia.
