Chipmaker Ambarella (NASDAQ: AMBA) and edge-orchestration company ZEDEDA on September 15, 2026 announced a partnership that lets enterprises deploy AI workloads across distributed cameras, robots, vehicles and industrial systems the same way they manage cloud services.
EVE-OS meets Ambarella's edge AI SoCs
The collaboration validates ZEDEDA's open-source EVE-OS on Ambarella's N1-655 generative-AI SoC, with Kubernetes support letting operators run containerised inference on power-constrained devices at fleet scale. ZEDEDA's Edge Intelligence Platform manages the fleet from the cloud, while its Model Hub streams optimised models onto Ambarella silicon.
Two SoCs, one platform
Ambarella's newer CV7 vision SoC, delivering roughly 2.5x the performance of its predecessor, is validated for the same orchestration stack, giving customers a single control plane spanning generative-AI and vision workloads. "The hard part was never training models," ZEDEDA CEO Said Ouissal said. "It's operating them securely on millions of field devices."
Cloud DNA for physical AI
Ambarella's chief growth officer Muneyb Minhazuddin said the pairing lets Ambarella "provide AI compute for power-constrained devices, while ZEDEDA handles secure deployment at scale." It follows a wave of edge-AI capital deployment, including the Analog Devices–Alif deal and Cornelis Networks' $205M round, and complements NVIDIA's push into on-device physical AI.
