AVI-SPL Taps Matternet To Fly Emergency Service Parts To Field Technicians In Minutes

AV giant AVI-SPL and FAA Type-Certified drone-delivery leader Matternet are partnering to fly critical replacement parts to on-site technicians in minutes, targeting congested downtowns and premium-SLA customer contracts.

AVI-SPL Taps Matternet To Fly Emergency Service Parts To Field Technicians In Minutes

AV integrator AVI-SPL and drone-delivery pioneer Matternet announced on September 15, 2026 that they will use FAA Type-Certified autonomous drones to fly critical replacement parts to AVI-SPL field technicians in minutes, targeting congested urban and suburban service jobs.

Fortune 100 Service Ecosystem Meets Type-Certified Drones

Tampa-based AVI-SPL, which supports more than 86% of Fortune 100 companies, will pair its integration and supply-chain network with Matternet's M2 platform. "Autonomous drone delivery can improve responsiveness, reduce transportation delays, and create entirely new service capabilities for our customers," said AVI-SPL COO John Murphy.

Ultra-Fast B2B Logistics As A Premium SLA

Use cases include rapid parts drops to installers in downtown Manhattan-style traffic, faster-response premium SLAs for demanding customers, and broader integration across AVI-SPL's supply chain. "Instead of waiting hours for a part, a technician can have it within minutes, which allows a job to be completed faster and at a lower cost," said Matternet founder and CEO Andreas Raptopoulos. Matternet has now enabled more than 60,000 commercial flights across U.S. and European cities.

From Healthcare Missions To Commercial B2B

Matternet has stacked industry firsts since 2014, from humanitarian drone delivery to BVLOS operations over Swiss cities and standard FAA Type Certification. This deal takes the platform beyond healthcare and consumer routes into industrial B2B service logistics — a natural adjacency to Matternet's recent Beeline UAS Part 135 partnership, its Apian NHS London launch and Matternet's public-market debut earlier this year.
