Amazon's AWS unit and vibe-coding startup Superblocks unveiled a strategic multi-year collaboration on August 3, 2026 that embeds Superblocks 3.0 directly inside AWS customers' private clouds, letting business users build AI-assisted internal apps without exposing data or prompts to third-party model providers.
What ships
Superblocks 3.0 spins up Amazon Aurora databases within the customer's own AWS account, integrates with Amazon Bedrock for model access and inherits the customer's IAM policies, audit logs, encryption keys and network controls. AWS will co-market the platform to enterprise buyers and support joint app-development workshops. The launch comes four months after Superblocks 2.0 in April.
Cloud giants pull enterprise AI in-house
The deal is a data-point for a bigger shift: hyperscalers pushing customers to buy AI 'scaffolding' - orchestration, security, agent harnesses and app builders - from the cloud rather than the frontier labs. AWS still lacks its own vibe-coding tool aimed at business users, so bringing Superblocks inside its walled garden extends the model-agnostic story that Microsoft's Satya Nadella has been preaching for the past month. Superblocks scale
Superblocks employs about 50 people and has raised $60 million to date, most recently a Series A in mid-2025 backed by Spark Capital, Kleiner Perkins, Meritech and Greenoaks. Co-founder Brad Menezes told TechCrunch that enterprises 'flipped' in 60 days from single-model Anthropic mandates to explicit multi-model policies, adding that 'any enterprise that is betting on a single model provider, that executive will be fired.'
