Brain Corp, the San Diego-based AI software company powering more than 40,000 autonomous mobile robots in commercial spaces around the world, has completed a SOC 2 Type II examination for its BrainOS platform. The certification, audited over a continuous monitoring period, is a meaningful enterprise milestone for a class of robots that increasingly move data and people through retail, warehouse and airport environments.
Why SOC 2 matters for AMRs
SOC 2 Type II demonstrates how an organisation secures customer data and operates its systems over time, rather than at a single point in time. For AMR vendors, that distinction matters – robots ingest camera feeds, inventory counts and floor plans on a daily basis. Brain Corp CEO David Pinn said the certification reduces friction for enterprise buyers and shortens procurement cycles that have historically slowed AMR scale-up.
Powering a fleet across six continents
BrainOS underpins cleaning and inventory robots manufactured by partners including Tennant, Minuteman, ICE and SoftBank Robotics. The platform supports more than 40,000 robots across six continents – one of the largest fielded autonomy fleets in the world – with deployments at chains such as Walmart, Sam''s Club and Schiphol Airport.
Safety and trust become table stakes
Brain Corp is one of several robotics vendors moving aggressively on enterprise governance. FANUC and Google have layered Gemini-powered AI controls onto industrial fleets, while FORT Robotics acquired Mapless AI last week to expand its safety platform with remote supervision. As physical AI moves off pilots and into mission-critical sites, security audits are becoming the new minimum bar.
Looking ahead
Brain Corp said the SOC 2 attestation will be followed by additional compliance work, including ISO 27001 certification, as part of a broader trust centre initiative the company launched in late 2025. Customers can now request the SOC 2 documentation through Brain Corp''s portal.
