HomeBase USA has completed a chainwide rollout of Simbe Robotics' Tally shelf-scanning robot and Store Intelligence platform, the two companies announced on July 30, 2026 — less than three months after the home improvement retailer's initial pilot in Copperas Cove, Texas and Laramie, Wyoming.
Pilot Results That Justified A Chain Sweep
During the pilot, Simbe said HomeBase's stores cut pricing errors by 92%, lowered controllable out-of-stocks by 58%, drove total out-of-stocks below one percent and shortened annual physical inventories from three days to less than one. Those numbers convinced owner and CEO Joel McLiney to greenlight a chainwide deployment across Texas, Wyoming, Kansas and Missouri, bringing Tally to farm supply, home improvement and hardware aisles serving rural communities.
Physical AI On The Retail Floor
Simbe's platform combines the Tally shelf-scanning robot, fixed Tally Spot sensors and Tally RFID into a single multimodal system that gives retailers accurate SKU-level inventory, pricing and merchandising data multiple times a day. Rather than treating Tally as a bolt-on, HomeBase built shelf-intelligence alerts directly into its daily operating routines — a pattern of retail physical AI adoption that mirrors deployments like Mariana Minerals' Spot rollout and the wider push toward physical AI hubs.

Simbe's Expanding Footprint
HomeBase joins retailers in nearly a dozen countries using Simbe's Store Intelligence platform across grocery, home improvement, wholesale club, alcohol and farm supply. The rollout comes as Simbe pushes Tally 4.0 — with up to 12 hours of runtime and expanded 3D and 360° coverage — into customer environments, and as the broader warehouse and retail robotics market keeps compounding at nearly 19% a year toward $59.5 billion by 2030.
