IBASE Debuts PI900 Pico-ITX Board With Intel Core Ultra For Edge AI

Taiwan's IBASE Technology has launched the PI900 Pico-ITX motherboard, packing Intel Core Ultra CPU, GPU and NPU acceleration plus 48GB DDR5 into a 100x72mm board.

IBASE Debuts PI900 Pico-ITX Board With Intel Core Ultra For Edge AI

Taiwan-listed IBASE Technology (TPEx: 8050) has unveiled the PI900 Pico-ITX motherboard, a 100 x 72 mm embedded platform that combines integrated AI acceleration and high-speed DDR5 memory to push generative and vision workloads to the edge.

Intel Core Ultra with on-die NPU in a Pico-ITX footprint

The PI900 is built around Intel Core Ultra 100U Series processors delivering up to 12 cores and 14 threads, with the CPU, GPU and Neural Processing Unit exposed to developers on a single die. IBASE supports up to 48 GB of DDR5-5600 memory to feed data-hungry AI models without an external GPU, keeping the whole system inside a footprint slightly smaller than a passport.

Retail kiosks, machine vision and interactive signage

Target applications include smart retail kiosks, machine vision equipment, interactive signage, industrial control gateways and other intelligent embedded platforms where floor space and thermal budget are tight. The board exposes HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.4a over USB Type-C and LVDS for flexible display outputs, alongside dual M.2 sockets for wireless and storage expansion, 2.5GbE Ethernet, multiple USB ports and RS-232/422/485 serial for legacy field devices.

Hardware security and watchdog for 24/7 deployments

IBASE has layered hardware security, system monitoring and watchdog features onto the PI900 to underpin reliable long-term operation. The launch adds to a wave of Core Ultra edge platforms rolled out at IFA and SEMICON Taiwan 2026, sitting alongside AMD's Ryzen AI Max Pro 400 personal AI push, D-Robotics' Sunrise chips under IFA's home robots and Broadcom's Q3 AI silicon surge.
