igus RBTX is transforming its marketplace into a comprehensive service hub for low-cost automation, offering 95 humanoid robot models from 35 manufacturers with pricing starting at €5,000 ($5,727). The company will demonstrate its expanded robotics lineup at Hannover Messe 2026.

Breaking Cost Barriers for Industrial Humanoids
The initiative addresses the primary obstacle preventing widespread humanoid robot adoption: prohibitive manufacturing costs. Alexander Mühlens, head of the Low-Cost Automation Business Unit at igus, emphasized that complex automation solutions must become accessible "for users without expert knowledge or vast expenses."
igus is developing AI-based control systems to simplify integration while building its own humanoid fleet. The company also serves as a one-stop marketplace for partner manufacturers, connecting users with complete automation solutions and integration partners.
Addressing Labor Shortage Through Versatile Automation
The strategy targets the severe skilled labor shortage by deploying general-purpose humanoids across multiple environments and applications. These robots can augment tedious tasks and provide flexible assistance while working alongside human workers to boost productivity.

Sebastian Thorwath-Kienbaum, Technical Internal Sales for Low Cost Automation at igus, confirmed the RBTX platform will feature the largest range of humanoid robotics by April 2026. This marketplace approach aims to democratize access to humanoid technology for industrial applications.
