Generative AI drug discovery firm Insilico Medicine (HKEX: 2251) and Hong Kong-listed China Medical System Holdings (HKEX: 0867) have signed an additional AI-empowered drug discovery collaboration, this time targeting a mass-market central nervous system indication with a novel mechanism of action identified by Insilico's PandaOmics platform. The two firms announced the expanded program on July 12.

Under the deal, Insilico and CMS will jointly advance co-development of the CNS R&D program by combining Insilico's validated Pharma.AI platform and PandaOmics target-discovery engine with CMS's clinical translation capabilities and commercial reach across China and Southeast Asia. The partnership does not disclose upfront and milestone terms for the new program, but adds to an existing relationship whose scope now spans autoimmune indications and multiple CNS assets.

The pact lands in the same week that Insilico announced a separate up-to-$600 million AI drug discovery deal with Takeda, underscoring how Pharma.AI has become one of the busiest generative chemistry engines in industry. Insilico says its PCC nomination cycles average 12 to 18 months versus the industry norm of 2.5 to 4 years, with 31 preclinical candidates nominated since 2021 and 13 already advancing under IND clearances.
