Texas-based powersports manufacturer Massimo Group (Nasdaq: MAMO) is moving beyond utility vehicles and into AI-driven physical security. On June 1, 2026 the company formally launched its AI Intelligent Patrol Platform initiative, an integrated "ground-mobile-air" architecture that combines autonomous patrol electric vehicles, spherical security robots and coordinated drones for continuous monitoring of large outdoor sites.
Repurposing Utility Carts Into Driverless Patrol Vehicles
The platform leans on Massimo's existing electric cart and utility-vehicle base. Engineers are upgrading those vehicles into AI-enabled, driverless patrol systems designed for continuous operation in commercial and community security environments. Prototype development has officially begun, alongside software integration and intelligent control system work, with Massimo targeting use cases across residential communities, industrial parks, logistics facilities, campuses and public-sector sites.
Spherical Robots Through Shenzhen Zikongjian Partnership
Massimo signed a supplemental cooperation agreement with Shenzhen Zikongjian Robot Co., Ltd. to jointly develop intelligent spherical patrol robots. The roadmap covers autonomous navigation, environmental sensing, AI-powered behavioral analysis, real-time abnormal event recognition, cloud-connected command systems and coordinated multi-device response. Drone coordination will eventually layer above the ground fleet, allowing operators to respond to incidents from any altitude.
Targeting A $50.4B U.S. Security Market
CEO Quenton Petersen positioned the launch as a strategic pivot for the company. Massimo cites IBISWorld's estimate that the U.S. security services industry will reach approximately $50.4 billion in 2026, and Grand View Research projecting the global physical security market growing from $147 billion in 2024 to roughly $216 billion by 2030. "We believe the future of patrol and facility security systems will increasingly move toward integrated AI ecosystems combining autonomous vehicles, intelligent robotics, and aerial coordination capabilities," Petersen said.
