NAVER, NVIDIA and Brookfield on July 24, 2026 announced a planned $10 billion expansion of Korea's sovereign AI factory infrastructure, growing NAVER's flagship NVIDIA DSX buildout at GAK Sejong from 55 megawatts to 200 megawatts by 2028 and setting a long-term path to a 1-gigawatt sovereign AI cloud.
How the $10 billion breaks down
NVIDIA plans to invest $1 billion directly into NAVER Corp. Brookfield, whose global AI infrastructure program manages roughly $100 billion in assets, has signed a non-binding term sheet to fund up to $9 billion, with NAVER covering the remainder. The site — NAVER's hyperscale GAK Sejong data center in Sejong, South Korea — will be built out on the NVIDIA DSX platform and populated with Vera Rubin and Blackwell accelerators over the 2027–2028 window.
DSX MaxLPS, DSX OS and NAVER's HyperCLOVA X
NAVER is an NVIDIA Cloud Partner and will operate the multi-tenant factory using NVIDIA's DSX MaxLPS software (which maximises tokens generated per megawatt) and DSX OS for lifecycle and multi-tenant management. On the model side, NAVER is retraining its HyperCLOVA X large language models on NVIDIA Nemotron 3 Ultra open weights and building a "Seoul World Model" on NVIDIA Cosmos world foundation models, powering an agent platform slated to launch in Korea in the second half of the year.
Part of Korea's AI Summit push
The NAVER deal was announced during South Korean President Jae Myung Lee's AI Summit visit to San Francisco, hours after the $500B+ SK Group–NVIDIA partnership and Samsung's new humanoid robotics division were unveiled. It builds on Brookfield's recent Aligned Data Centers buyout and the broader wave of gigawatt-scale NVIDIA supply-chain commitments announced this week.
