NEURA Robotics is extending its Physical AI push into building services. On August 24, 2026, the German cognitive-robotics company said its subsidiary NEURA Mobile Robots GmbH has acquired 100% of Ulm-based ADLATUS Robotics GmbH, an established maker of autonomous cleaning and sweeping robots for industry, logistics, healthcare, and public spaces.
Fifth deal in 16 months
The purchase is NEURA’s fifth acquisition in 16 months and follows its take-over of Bosch Rexroth’s ACTIVE Shuttle intralogistics unit and the earlier addition of ek robotics. It closes just weeks after NEURA banked its record $1.4B Series C led by Tether, giving CEO David Reger a war chest for the Neuraverse build-out.
ADLATUS brings hundreds of deployed CR700C, CR700D and SR1300 units, proprietary navigation software, and a decade of real-world cleaning data — all valuable training material for a Physical AI platform that depends on operational experience, not just simulation.
From routes to reasoning
NEURA plans to layer its own sensor stack and AI models onto ADLATUS machines and connect them to the Neuraverse, its open Physical AI infrastructure. The goal, Reger said, is for a cleaning robot to “no longer simply follow a predetermined route,” but to recognise surfaces and types of dirt, interpret situations, pick appropriate cleaning strategies, and learn from every deployment.
Open platform, not closed ecosystem
Reger framed the ADLATUS deal as a testbed for the Neuraverse’s open model. NEURA wants third-party cleaning, logistics and service-robot makers to eventually plug into its Physical AI stack in the same way ADLATUS now will. Andreas Lindemann, Managing Director of NEURA Mobile Robots, said the group also intends to fold the cleaning fleet into its Fleet Manager, exposing existing AGV customers to the new applications.
European Physical AI play
The takeover fits NEURA’s wider bet that Europe’s mechanical-engineering, sensor and automation base can be re-bundled around modern AI. ADLATUS — 20 years of robotics know-how out of Ulm — is being positioned as another building block, alongside the Japanese and industrial partnerships Physical AI leaders have been stacking through 2026.
