Nvidia formally kicked off its DSX Ready qualification programme on September 24, 2026, naming Hitachi Energy, LG Energy Solution and Tesla as the first battery energy storage vendors cleared to power AI factories built to the chipmaker's reference designs.
A single spec sheet for AI factory power
The DSX Ready badge is Nvidia's attempt to standardise compute, networking, power, cooling, facilities and software behind AI-factory buildouts, giving hyperscalers a shortlist of interoperable products rather than bespoke integration for every site. The initial wave covers battery energy storage systems and cooling distribution units, both critical to smoothing multi-megawatt GPU load profiles that can whipsaw grids in milliseconds.
Hitachi, LG and Tesla split the shortlist
Hitachi Energy brings power conversion systems and a plant controller built on its 2024 acquisition of Spanish power-electronics specialist Eks Energy. LG Energy Solution offers 2.5 MW / 5.1 MWh modular blocks with integrated grid-forming AC and US-made LFP cells that qualify for domestic tax credits. Tesla completes the initial trio with its Megapack line.
