OMRON Robotics will unveil two next-generation autonomous mobile robots, the LD-150 and LD-300, at Automate 2026 in Chicago, extending its flagship LD Series into heavier payload classes as manufacturers push to automate material movement across crowded factory and warehouse floors.
Heavier payloads, smaller footprints
The LD-150 carries up to 150 kg in a compact 500 mm-wide chassis, while the LD-300 hauls up to 300 kg in a 580 mm-wide body. Both travel at speeds up to 2.1 m/s and recharge wirelessly through inductive charging in 30 minutes or less, letting fleets stay in near-continuous service without manual docking. The narrow footprints are designed to thread through tight aisles and doorways that wider AMRs struggle to navigate.
Safety and fleet software built in
OMRON says the robots provide up to 360-degree safety-scanner coverage and meet the ISO 3691-4:2023 standard for driverless industrial trucks, an increasingly important requirement as robots and workers share the same space. They can climb 5-degree grade ramps and handle facility transitions, and they run on OMRON's FLOW Core software for fleet orchestration, traffic management and integration with existing automation.
Aimed at a deployment-focused market
The launch lands as the wider robotics industry shifts from pilots to validated, results-driven deployments. OMRON joins a crowded Automate 2026 floor where rivals are racing to show physical-AI hardware, including Kawasaki's RL030N 8-axis platform and Teradyne Robotics' physical-AI lineup. Software-led launches such as Inbolt's vision-enabled robot programming underscore how vendors are competing on ease of deployment as much as raw hardware.
Availability
OMRON expects the LD-150 and LD-300 to begin shipping in the fourth quarter of 2026. The company will demonstrate the robots at booth #3080 at McCormick Place during Automate 2026, which runs June 22-25.
