Oracle on September 23 rebranded and expanded its Life Sciences AI Data Platform as Oracle Life Sciences Data Intelligence, adding domain-trained agents and natural-language querying across 122 million longitudinal patient records.
What Data Intelligence Adds
The upgraded platform ships purpose-trained AI agents for cohort discovery, clinical-trial feasibility analysis and health-economics and outcomes research (HEOR). Analysts can now describe cohorts in plain English — "Type 2 diabetics on GLP-1 who initiated a statin within 90 days of diagnosis" — and let Oracle's agent build the query, retrieve the cohort and generate the descriptive statistics.
Why 122 Million Records Matters
Oracle's health data business has been rebuilt around the longitudinal patient dataset it inherited from the 2022 Cerner acquisition. Life Sciences Data Intelligence is the first product Oracle is pitching as a direct competitor to real-world evidence platforms from IQVIA, Datavant and Optum. Life-sciences customers get pre-approved access; pharma clients pay for cohort exports and analytical modules.
Where It Slots In Oracle Health
The launch follows a wave of AI moves inside Oracle Health this year, including the January Life Sciences AI Data Platform (now retired), and new agents in Oracle Cerner Enterprise. Life Sciences Data Intelligence rides Oracle Cloud Infrastructure GPUs and, according to Oracle, will host external life-sciences models through OCI Generative AI.
