Construction-software leader Procore Technologies (NYSE: PCOR) has agreed to pay approximately $845 million in cash to acquire DroneDeploy, folding one of the largest reality-capture and jobsite-robotics platforms into its AI construction stack. The deal, announced on July 29, 2026, is the biggest strategic bet yet on turning jobsite imagery into automated action rather than passive documentation.
Perception, Reasoning And Action On Every Jobsite
DroneDeploy runs on more than three million jobsites in over 180 countries, pulling imagery from drones, ground-based robots, and mobile, fixed and wearable cameras into a unified 3D record of the built world. Procore CEO Ajei Gopal framed the deal as adding perception to a platform that already holds the industry's decision record — nearly 400 million project photos and more than 10 million RFIs, submittals and inspections in the past year alone.
Together, the companies say, that combination will let Procore AI move beyond retrieval and summarization to "digital coworkers" that watch a site, detect deviations, and open the RFI or safety observation themselves. DroneDeploy CEO Mike Winn will continue leading the reality-capture and robotics unit inside Procore.
$845M Cash, With Cross-Sell From Day One
The all-cash price will be paid subject to customary purchase-price adjustments. Goldman Sachs is advising Procore; Citi is advising DroneDeploy. The transaction is expected to close later this year subject to regulatory approvals; Procore's newly issued financial outlook does not include any contribution from DroneDeploy. Once the deal closes, Procore said it will immediately begin cross-selling DroneDeploy's aerial, ground and safety-AI products into its base — and pushing Procore workflows into DroneDeploy's construction, energy, mining and utility customer sets.
Doubling Down On Robotics In The Built World
DroneDeploy has been steadily moving from mapping into automation with Dock Automation, Industrial Inspection and its Robotics product line, all of which now become native Procore capabilities. That fits a broader push across construction toward autonomous jobsite tooling — the same trend behind Kodiak-powered driverless haulers in the Permian and jobsite quadrupeds elsewhere.
