Rapta, a Portland, Oregon-based industrial AI company, has raised $8 million in new funding to expand its AI-powered quality assurance and manufacturing intelligence platform for defense, aerospace and precision manufacturers. The round was co-led by Voyager Capital and Access Venture Partners, with participation from DeepWork Capital, LongKnife, Elevate Capital, Ringbolt Capital, Portland Seed Fund, BVC and existing investors.
Computer vision for defense-grade production lines
Rapta’s software combines computer vision, machine learning and workflow tooling to help precision manufacturers detect defects, capture line-side inspection data and generate compliance-ready records at rate. The company markets specifically to defense primes, aerospace suppliers and other regulated shops where AS9100, ITAR-adjacent traceability and first-article inspection requirements dominate the QA burden.
Defense manufacturing tailwinds
The raise arrives as the Department of Defense pushes to modernize its industrial base and the White House expands equity and grant support for critical suppliers. Use of proceeds
Rapta said it will use the new capital to expand its engineering team, accelerate deployments with existing defense and aerospace customers, and extend platform coverage into new inspection modalities. The company already lists customers such as Elbit Systems, Repligen, Shimadzu and Knight’s Armament on its site.
