New York and Netanya, Israel-based TytoCare said July 15 it has appointed Adam Pellegrini as chief executive officer and closed an oversubscribed $25 million-plus growth round led by Insight Partners, with participation from HOOP, OliveTree, OrbiMed, Qumra Capital, Qualcomm Ventures, West Fountain Global Fund, Echo Health Ventures, MTIP Health and Memorial Care. The company also named Greg Orr, formerly VP Digital Health at Walgreens and COO of Jasper Health, as chief operating officer.
An AI-First Repositioning
TytoCare is repositioning as an AI-first clinical enablement platform pairing its handheld remote physical exam device — capable of clinical-grade heart, lung, ear, skin, throat and abdomen data capture — with FDA-cleared AI SaMD algorithms for lung auscultation analysis, cardiac screening and dermatological assessment. The company is targeting congestive heart failure, COPD, post-surgical recovery and oncology treatment monitoring — categories where telehealth has historically struggled to match in-person diagnostic fidelity.
The Investor Thesis
"Health systems have wanted to extend real clinical care into the home for years. The barrier has long been diagnostic fidelity," Insight Partners managing director Jeff Horing said in a statement. "TytoCare takes a new approach: an FDA-cleared exam device paired with AI algorithms that keep improving as the evidence base grows." Proceeds will fund AI clinical algorithm expansion, deeper payer and health system integrations and a go-to-market push into cardiometabolic, cancer treatment and post-acute care populations.
Category Context
The round lands in a busy stretch for healthcare AI and virtual care funding — following Medtronic's real-time AI OR platform Touch Surgery Aide and J&J's Ottava soft-tissue robot FDA de novo authorization. TytoCare previously secured FDA de novo clearance for the first AI-powered eardrum analysis; the growth round should give it runway to embed that AI stack across integrated care pathways.
