Vantage Data Centers is exploring strategic options that could include an initial public offering valuing the hyperscale operator at roughly $100 billion, Reuters reported on August 13. Any listing could raise around $10 billion and take place as early as next year, though a sale is also on the table.
An $11 Billion Pandemic-Era Buildout, Now Cashing In
The Denver-headquartered company, backed by Silver Lake and DigitalBridge, has raised roughly $11 billion since late 2023 as hyperscalers and AI labs raced to lock in power, cooling and dense server real estate. Vantage is also involved in a Wisconsin data center campus tied to the OpenAI and Oracle Stargate buildout — one of the largest AI infrastructure projects on the planet.
Data Centers Repriced As Tech, Not Real Estate
A $100 billion sticker would signal that public markets are willing to treat AI-era colocation as critical technology infrastructure rather than conventional real estate. It would sit above every listed pure-play data-center REIT and provide a fresh benchmark for a sector absorbing extraordinary private capital.

The Compute Land Grab Behind The Filing
Deliberations arrive as related AI infrastructure deals stack up: NVIDIA's $500 billion Wall Street financing alliance, Anthropic's $9.1 billion Rockdale deal, and Naver, NVIDIA and Brookfield's 1 GW Korean AI factory. A Vantage listing would give equity investors their most direct pure-play exposure yet.
