ASUS used its AI Tech 2026 conference in Seoul on September 3 to expand the top and bottom of its AI hardware stack in one announcement — pushing new Intel Xeon 6 and AMD EPYC 9006 rack systems on the data center side and a rugged Industrial Edge Server family for factory-floor and healthcare deployments — through strategic collaborations with Intel, AMD, IBM, Samsung, Schneider Electric, Aleria, Foxlink and Western Digital.
Data Center Tier: Xeon 6 And EPYC 9006 Racks
The launch centerpieces are two families of rack servers. On the Intel side, the RS700-E12-RS4U and RS720-E12-RS12U ship on Intel Xeon 6 processors and are pitched as scalable platforms for AI, HPC and data-intensive workloads, with the higher-density XA P8I-E13A sitting above them as a 6U system built around the Xeon Next-Gen platform and GPU acceleration. On the AMD side, the RS720A-E14B-R32U and RS500A-E14B-R12U use AMD EPYC 9006 Series CPUs for general enterprise and AI workloads, while the ESC8000A-E13P pairs the same CPU family with AMD Instinct MI350P PCIe accelerators for inference and agentic AI.
Edge Tier: The RUC-2000 Industrial Edge Server
The more novel piece of the announcement is the ASUS Industrial Edge Server line — engineered for factory floors, hospitals, transportation cabins and other environments where standard rack hardware cannot survive temperature swings, electrical noise or unstable power. The new RUC-2000 series is a fanless embedded computer built around Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors and delivering up to 180 AI TOPS. ASUS is positioning it for machine vision, video analytics, in-vehicle AI, AOI and factory automation, keeping sensitive video and production data on-site rather than shipping it to the cloud.
A Broader Partner Ecosystem
The other technology partners named at AI Tech 2026 signal how far the ASUS stack now reaches beyond CPU sockets. IBM and Samsung anchor the software and memory side, Schneider Electric brings power and cooling infrastructure — critical for the density profiles Xeon 6 and MI350P are pushing — while Western Digital, Aleria and Foxlink round out storage, interconnect and ODM manufacturing muscle. ASUS framed the announcement as an expansion of its "Ubiquitous AI, Incredible Possibilities" ecosystem strategy from cloud AI infrastructure down to edge deployments.
Fitting Into ASUS's AI Product Push
The AI Tech 2026 unveil follows the company's joint messaging with AMD at IFA 2026's opening keynote and complements AMD's own Threadripper Halo Station reveal, both aimed at putting more inference and training capacity closer to end users. It also lands in the same window as Intel's edge-focused chip pushes, giving customers a matched Xeon 6, EPYC 9006 and Core Ultra Series 3 lineup from a single vendor. The company also flagged a new wave of Intel Core Ultra edge boards from ODM partners as evidence that Core Ultra is settling in as the default silicon for factory-floor AI.
