BTQ Technologies (Nasdaq: BTQ) and Texas-based power and data-center developer TIDAL PWR announced a strategic collaboration on Monday to draft a trusted reference architecture for quantum-ready data centers, a joint attempt to answer the operational questions AI hyperscalers are already asking about post-quantum security.
What the blueprint will cover
The initial scope covers six workstreams: a reference architecture for AI, HPC and future quantum workloads; a technical roadmap for stitching quantum systems into large-scale facilities; procurement standards for chips and infrastructure that may require crypto-agile or post-quantum designs; supply-chain and vendor assessment criteria; security frameworks covering model weights, inference traffic, enterprise data and privileged access; and a repeatable deployment model for hyperscalers, enterprises and MSPs. BTQ CEO Olivier Roussy Newton said the point is to "help define what a quantum data center should look like before the market standard is set."
Where each partner comes in
TIDAL PWR is building power and data-center capacity for the next wave of AI demand and treats quantum as a natural extension of that trajectory, per President and CEO Chad Swensen. BTQ brings its post-quantum cryptography stack, quantum systems architecture and vendor mapping - the same trust infrastructure it recently expanded with a July 8 close of French quantum-software firm QPerfect, adding the MIMIQ emulator, Digital Twin and Quantum Logical Unit control layers to its portfolio.
Part of a bigger quantum-in-DC push
The tie-up runs alongside the same-day Israel Innovation Authority national quantum call and the Sandia-Quantinuum Helios Nature publication, adding to a stack of moves that also include BTQ's QPerfect close and SEALSQ and GlobalFoundries' post-quantum chip MoU. The parties say they will start with planning and architecture and could deepen the relationship into commercial and project-specific work.
