Hudson River Trading Signs Multi-Billion Dollar AI Cloud Deal With CoreWeave

CoreWeave (NASDAQ: CRWV) signed a multi-year, multi-billion dollar deal with quantitative trading firm Hudson River Trading for AI cloud capacity, the companies said on August 20, 2026, in the largest financial-services commitment yet on CoreWeave's platform.

Under the agreement, HRT will run computing clusters built on NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72 and HGX B200 GPUs stitched together with NVIDIA's Spectrum-X Ethernet networking, plus dedicated high-bandwidth direct-connect links back to HRT's on-premises trading systems. The deployment gives HRT early access to Vera Rubin, NVIDIA's next-generation rack-scale AI platform that first shipped to hyperscalers in July.

"As we scale our AI and machine learning research, the AI platform we build on matters as much as the models we build," Kevin Lee, HRT's head of research and development, said in a statement. "We chose CoreWeave because they understand what it takes to run AI in demanding production environments." HRT became a CoreWeave customer earlier in 2026; the multi-year expansion turns that pilot into one of the largest AI infrastructure commitments from Wall Street to date.

Financial services becomes a proving ground

The deal expands CoreWeave's exposure beyond the AI labs and hyperscalers that anchor its revenue — customers such as OpenAI, Meta and Microsoft — into quantitative finance, where sub-millisecond latency and reliability are as important as raw FLOPS. "Financial services is one of the most demanding proving grounds for AI," said CoreWeave chief revenue officer Jon Jones. Neither party disclosed the contract's dollar value.

Following a summer of mega-deals

The HRT contract lands after a summer in which CoreWeave watched NVIDIA line up its $12.9B Hugging Face deal, Anthropic wrote a $45B compute cheque to Nscale, and Firebird lit up a 70,000-GPU AI factory in Armenia — signalling that GPU capacity has become the strategic currency of both Big AI and Wall Street.
