Hong Kong–based D-Robotics has closed a $400 million Series C to expand its full-stack robotics chip and software platform, the company announced this week, in one of the largest China-linked robotics chip rounds of 2026.
A Brain For Every Robot
D-Robotics positions itself as an infrastructure provider for the robotics industry: its Sunrise™ processors run perception and control workloads, and its RDK™ developer kits give startups a validated hardware-software starting point. Cumulative Sunrise chip shipments have crossed 8 million units, the company said, with the flagship Sunrise S600 already picked up by 20+ customers within six months of launch.
Customers Who Are Familiar Names
D-Robotics’ customer roster reads like a Chinese humanoid and dexterous-robotics who’s-who: UBTECH, FOURIER, Astribot, X Square Robot, Booster Robotics, TARS, Spirit AI and PaXini Tech. That customer base makes the round doubly notable: it’s not only an inbound chip bet but also a bet on the Chinese humanoid stack maturing beneath it.
US Curbs, Domestic Silicon
The round lands as U.S. curbs on advanced semiconductor exports to China tighten — a backdrop that has boosted domestic robotics-silicon plays like D-Robotics. Alongside its commercial rollout, the company runs a Gravity Program (DGP) that supports 500+ universities and 100,000+ developers across more than 20 countries.
What Comes Next
D-Robotics said proceeds will fund new SoC design, developer tooling and international expansion. The Series C brings total capital raised to roughly $800 million, per company disclosures.
