Defense tech startup Mach Industries has raised a fresh $600 million in a Series C extension round that doubles its valuation to $3.7 billion, the Huntington Beach, California company said on September 10, 2026. The financing lands just three months after Mach closed the original $300 million Series C at a $1.8 billion post-money valuation, bringing the full Series C to $900 million and marking a four-fold valuation ramp in a single year.
Ribbit and Infinite Capital re-up
Ribbit Capital, Infinite Capital, Bedrock Capital and Sequoia Capital participated in both tranches. Sequoia, whose Stephanie Zhan and Shaun Maguire made their firms first defense investment when they backed Mach, has now doubled down alongside Ribbit — a fintech-heritage firm that has spent 2026 writing large checks into AI-adjacent hardware from Cognition to Crusoe. The extension makes Mach one of the most richly valued private drone makers in the U.S., alongside Anduril at a rumored $100 billion.
Building unmanned systems and their propulsion
Mach manufactures a growing lineup of autonomous military platforms — including the vertical-takeoff Viper strike drone, Glide high-altitude glider, Stratos surveillance aircraft, Dart counter-drone interceptor and Pike long-range munitions launcher — from a 115,000-square-foot Huntington Beach headquarters plus additional California facilities. In May, the company spent $50 million to buy solid rocket motor (SRM) developer Exquadrum, giving it a captive answer to an SRM shortage that has slowed the wider drone industry. The unit now trades as Mach Energetics and sells propulsion to third parties.

Founded in 2023 by 22-year-old MIT dropout Ethan Thornton, Mach is a textbook case of the "attritable" hardware thesis behind the sectors capital surge. Machs pitch is that vertically integrated, mass-produced systems can undercut incumbent primes — echoing the argument that has powered raises across Hadrian and AI-hardware peers like Positron.
