Silicon Valley-based Meshy said July 21 it has raised nearly $400 million in a Series B round at a $1.5 billion valuation — the largest funding round to date for a company built specifically for AI 3D generation and Meshy's first publicly disclosed valuation. All existing investors participated alongside a group of global backers the company did not name.
The Business Behind The Round
Meshy has stitched itself into the top of the global technology economy. Founder Ethan Hu, an MIT PhD, said five of the world's ten largest technology companies by market cap or valuation now have teams building on the platform. The company reports more than 12 million registered users, 100 million models created and annual recurring revenue growing about 12x year over year — an unusually mature commercial footprint in a category where most competitors are still pre-revenue. Named customers span gaming (Nexon, NetEase Games, 37 Interactive Entertainment), 3D printing (Bambu Lab, Creality, Elegoo, FlashForge, xTool) and design (Hugo Boss, Sweden's museum of art and design).
New Products: 3D Agent, Auto Split, Smart Topology, 8K Texture
Alongside the raise, Meshy shipped several products it says pull AI-generated 3D from "looking right on screen" to "ready for real production." Meshy 3D Agent — described as the first AI agent for 3D creation — turns a conversation, text, photo or sketch into a print-ready model in FBX, OBJ, GLB or STL, hitting a 97% slicer success rate for 3D printing and clean export to Unity, Unreal and Blender. Auto Split performs one-click part-splitting for 3D printing, producing watertight parts that reassemble precisely. Smart Topology generates cleanly structured geometry in about 10 seconds with a controllable polygon count from 100 to 15,000. Meshy 8K Texture, rolling out soon, moves texture generation to native 8K resolution.
Category Context
The round lands in a broader surge of AI infrastructure and physical-AI funding. Meshy's raise arrives days after Sila Nanotechnologies pulled in $300M for silicon-anode battery materials, Glow exited stealth at a $1.2B valuation for AI-era endpoint security and Genesis AI entered talks for a $500M raise at $3B for its robotics foundation model. Proceeds will fund research and global market expansion, Meshy said.
