Metzingen-based NEURA Robotics took the Innovation Stage at IFA 2026 Berlin on September 5 to argue that Europe can still lead the next phase of physical AI, with founder and CEO David Reger using the keynote to showcase the 4NE1 humanoid and the Neuraverse operating system for shared robot skills.
"From Europe, For The World"
Reger's talk, titled "From Europe, for the World: Building the Ecosystem for Physical AI," framed NEURA as a full-stack robotics platform rather than a single-product humanoid maker. 4NE1, the company's cognitive humanoid, appeared alongside its industrial cobot lineup - MAiRA, MAV, LARA and the MiPA service robot - to show a single software layer running across form factors. NEURA also positioned Neuraverse as a network where skills learned by one robot propagate to every connected machine, a direct pitch to enterprises weary of one-off automation projects.
Robots On The Runway And A Chinese Onslaught
The keynote landed the same day IFA Next hosted "Robots on the Runway" on the Creator Stage, with humanoids from Unitree, AgiBot, EngineAI, DEEP Robotics, Dobot and others parading in front of press. More than 900 Chinese exhibitors are in Berlin this year, sharpening the case that NEURA's argument for a European counterweight is timely. 4NE1 - which debuted at CES 2026 in a design collaboration with Studio F.A. Porsche - was on show at the NEURA Next booth all week.
Backing A Reservation Book, Not A Concept
NEURA is not pitching from an early-stage slide deck. The company closed a $1.4 billion Series C in June led by Tether with Qualcomm, Amazon, NVIDIA, Bosch, Schaeffler and the European Investment Bank participating, and its Adlatus acquisition in August pushed autonomous cleaning into the Neuraverse. 4NE1 is now open for pre-orders in Europe, with a smaller 4NE1 Mini reservation window aimed at researchers and integrators, giving IFA attendees a tangible product to buy - not just a stage demo.
