Robot.com, the San Francisco company formerly known as Kiwibot, has signed a seven-year commercial agreement with Sodexo Group, its largest single enterprise deployment to date, and confirmed the R-Dog quadruped will join the fleet alongside the R-Kiwi sidewalk robot. The deal, announced on September 4, 2026, extends a partnership that began in 2021 and has since scaled across Sodexo-run college campuses in North America.
Seven Years Of Sidewalk Delivery
"Sodexo is an amazing partner, and it has around 400,000 employees globally, and 120,000 full-time employees in the U.S. It's one of the companies that is suffering from labor shortages," Robot.com co-founder and CEO Felipe Chavez Cortes told The Robot Report. Robot.com's R-Kiwi fleet has now completed more than 2.4 million tasks, and the company insists sidewalk delivery on college campuses remains the right proving ground even as competitors such as Starship pivot toward grocery.
Remi: The Software Stack That Makes The Economics Work
Cortes credits Remi, Robot.com's internally developed "robot implementation intelligence" platform, for making sidewalk delivery pencil out. Remi combines classical robotics with third-party AI perception and Robot.com's own advertising network to squeeze cost out of every operational hour while opening a second revenue stream. Robot.com has partnered with Field AI and Physical Intelligence to harden Remi as the fleet expands into more complex environments.
R-Dog And The Path To R-noid
R-Dog, a wheeled-legged quadruped, is Robot.com's next embodiment. Unlike traditional sidewalk robots that require the customer to unlock a compartment, R-Dog can drop packages, climb stairs and even board autonomous vehicles without vehicle-side modifications. Commercial deployments are targeted for 2027, with college campuses first. Cortes also flagged the wheeled humanoid R-noid as a longer-term extension for the same enterprise customer base, once the economics catch up.
From Campus To Industrial
"When we jump into industrial cases, it's actually much easier — you have normal access to Wi-Fi, the environment is much more controlled," Cortes said. Robot.com booked around 250,000 revenue-generating robot-hours in the first half of 2026 and is targeting a million per year in the near term. The Sodexo deal, combined with R-Dog and Remi, is the company's clearest signal yet that outdoor autonomy is graduating from pilot to platform.
