Robotics software company Roboteon used Automate 2026 in Chicago to demonstrate something the warehouse industry has long wanted but rarely had: autonomous mobile robots and picking cobots from different vendors working together through a single orchestration platform.
One platform across many robots
At booth N19019, the Silicon Valley company ran live demos in which AMRs and picking cobots from separate manufacturers coordinated through the Roboteon platform's orchestration engine, alongside human workers. The pitch targets a persistent pain point in distribution centers, where mixed fleets of robots from rival vendors often cannot be managed as one system.
"We will be demonstrating what many companies are searching for, which is interoperability and orchestration of processes across different robotic types and vendors, as well as human assets," said Raj Senguttuvan, senior vice president of product at Roboteon.
Enterprise integration and digital twins
Roboteon highlighted rapid integration of robot systems with enterprise software such as WMS, WES and ERP, including certified integrations with SAP EWM and Microsoft Dynamics 365. The platform packages configurable execution applications for piece, case and pallet picking, replenishment and materials movement, and leans on simulation, digital twins and machine learning to optimize how work is released to the floor and executed.
Riding the Automate orchestration wave
The demonstration fit the broader story at Automate 2026, where exhibitors emphasized making automation faster to deploy and easier to scale. Mobile robots were everywhere, from OMRON's LD-150 and LD-300 AMRs to outdoor platforms such as Burro's Grande 44, while funded startups like ANSCER Robotics pushed factory AMRs. Roboteon's bet is that as fleets grow more heterogeneous, the value shifts from any single robot to the software layer that makes them all work together.
Roboteon, an A3 member since 2025, says its vendor-agnostic approach helps enterprises realize automation strategies faster, with quicker time-to-value and more flexibility to add new robot types over time.
