RobotPlusPlus Closes Series C Led By Qianggang Capital To Scale Working-At-Height Robots Globally

Beijing's RobotPlusPlus (ROBOT++) closed a hundreds-of-millions-of-yuan Series C led by Qianggang Capital to expand its hull-derusting and industrial climbing robots — already 70%+ market share at 100+ shipyards — into more high-risk sites worldwide.

RobotPlusPlus Closes Series C Led By Qianggang Capital To Scale Working-At-Height Robots Globally

Beijing-based industrial robotics company RobotPlusPlus (ROBOT++) has closed a Series C round worth hundreds of millions of RMB — tens of millions of dollars — to accelerate its global rollout of special-purpose robots that take humans out of dangerous working-at-height jobs.

Qianggang Capital Leads With Industry Backing

The round was led by Qianggang Capital Fund and joined by GIG Capital Group, Sealand Innovation and Juntong Capital, with early backer Fosun RZ Capital increasing its stake. "The endgame for embodied AI in industry is not the laboratory; it is the most demanding worksites," said Zhang Zhenming, general manager of Qianggang Capital Fund. "RobotPlusPlus has brought robot fleets to commercial scale."

70% Share Of Ship-Hull Derusting

Founder and CEO Dr. Hua-Yang Xu framed the deal as validation of a decade of hard commercial deployment. The company's hull-derusting robots now operate at more than 100 shipyards — a market share above 70% — and have worked on over 10,000 cargo vessels, cutting overall cost by 30% to 50% and improving throughput five to six times compared with manual scaffolding-based methods. Customers include NOSCO Shipyard, Drydocks World, ST Engineering Marine, Saudi Aramco and Vopak.

Building A Vertical Embodied AI Platform

More than 60% of RobotPlusPlus's staff is in R&D and R&D spending has stayed above 20% of revenue for three consecutive years. Its fielded robots have accumulated over 2 million operating hours, generating the kind of real-world data set that vertical embodied-AI models need to generalize across shipyards, oil-and-gas facilities, wind farms and building façades. The Series C proceeds will fund international expansion in those adjacent verticals across the 18+ countries where the company already operates.

The round adds to a wave of Chinese embodied-AI investment this year that includes Kinetix AI's $75M angel round, Aidin Robotics' KRW16B round and the Ubtech Liuzhou super-smart factory launch.
